Basic Skills Necessary:

  • do stranded knitting with at most two colors in the round

Pattern Description:

I proudly present this gorgeous unique commuter trip inspired country roads beanie.

It has a two colored ribbing, followed by everything I have seen lately on my bus trip back home.
There is/are forest, hares, roe deers and horses on the first pattern band.
So it(tm)s more difficult to knit as the first band is not repetitive.
But it(tm)s so fascinating to see all the different animals develop that it(tm)s absolutely worth it!
In the background you can see the busy country road, trees, fields and a little village with houses and a church (inspired by Hannberg near Erlangen in Franconia).
Behind is the forest again, above the blue sky with clouds and the sun is shining above.

As colorful as the pattern is, there are at most two colors in one round! So it(tm)s easier to knit than you may think!
There are quite some color changes but if you weave in the newe joined yarn and the ends during knittng (cross it 5 - 7 times over the working yarn), you won(tm)t have much fuss with weaving in later.

I used 4-ply sock yarn to knit it (many leftovers). Alternatively you can also use 4- to 5-ply Acrylic or Merino yarn.

Enjoy the unique and happy trip to country side!
