Pattern Description:
This cabled hat for babies & children can be worked either as a stocking cap or a beanie. Its' worked bottom up with a ribbed brim, the original cable panel is set on a reverse stockinette background. Stocking shown in Newborn on 5 day old baby Oliver, and Child Beanie on big brother Jesse.
Gauge:
28 sts and 38 rows per 4 inches in stockinette on larger needles, 44-st cable panel measures 5.25 inches, 52-st cable panel measures 6.25 inches
Sizing / Finished Measurements:
- Size: Newborn(Infant, Toddler, Child)
- Finished Circumference: 13(14.75, 17.25, 18.75) inches
- Fits Up To: 15(17, 19.5, 21.5) inches
Materials:
- Yarn: 90(120, 160, 190) yards fingering weight yarn for beanie; 115(150, 200, 235) yards fingering weight yarn for stocking
- Tools: Size 1(2.25 mm) and size 2(2.75 mm) 16" circular needles and set of 5 DPNs, stitch marker, tapestry needle
