Pattern Description:

If your feet feel a sudden desire to dance a jig, it may be free-spirited Clochn. The geometric pattern is an original lace design, evoking basalt cliffs and crashing waves. The socks are worked toe-up with a short row heel and stretchy twisted rib cuff.

The lace pattern is charted only.


Gauge measurement should be taken after blocking.
36 sts/50 rounds = 4 in/10 cm in Stockinette stitch using larger needle

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • Foot Circumference: 7.5 (8.5) in/19 (21.5) cm
  • Foot Length Toe-to-Heel: 8.5 (8.75) in/21.5 (22) cm; length is easily adjustable
  • Shown in size 7.5 in/19 cm


  • 350 (400) yd/320 (366) m fingering weight yarn
  • Shown in Hazel Knits Entice MCN (70% Merino, 20% Cashmere, 10% Nylon; 400 yd/366 m per 115g skein) Color: Lochness; 1 skein
  • US #1/2.5 mm needle
  • US #2/2.75 mm needle
