Pattern Description:

Checkerboard Mitts is an easy and quick to knit pattern that looks harder than it is. A simple combination of increases and decreases create the wavy checkerboard cuff while the ribbed pattern on the hand ensures a good fit for a wide range of sizes. Two skeins of yarn will make two pair of mitts in alternating colors.

Gauge:

6 stitches = 1 inch in stockinette stitch

Materials:

  • DK weight yarn - 460 yards (one skein of each color, makes two contrasting pairs)
  • US Size #5 double point needles (or size needed to obtain gauge)

You Will Also Need:

  • 3 Stitch Markers (1 of a different color)
  • Stitch holder / waste yarn
  • Tapestry needle
