Pattern Description:

This shawl is knit bottom-up with short row shaping used to create the crescent shape. No need to wrap and turn for these short rows. They're easy, peasy. Chandra is a lunar deity in Hindu tradition.

The pattern is both written and charted.

The pattern has been test knitted and tech edited.


19 sts and 30 rows = 4 inches (10cm) in stockinette stitch

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • S, M and L


  • 280-450 DK weight yarn
  • US 8 (5mm) needles
  • US 11 (8mm) needles for cast on only

You Will Also Need:

  • stitch markers optional
  • tapestry needle
