I'm confused by the yarn. I want to make this in a single color but now that i've purchased the pattern, you mention two yarns. What? With C, CO 44. I get CO as cast on 44 stitches. what is "C"? and what is the non working yarn if i'm only using one color? Help please.

You need to be able to work 3 strips separately that will be braided and joined together. I keep each of the 3 braided strips on separate needles, so you need a total of 4 needles--1 for each strip and one to work with. SO, you can use 2 pairs of straight, 3 pairs of ciruculars (1 for each strip, since the needles are connected), or a set of dpn's would work also. You could get away with one pair of needles and just transfer the stitches for the 3 strips back and forth from stitch holders as well.

Sorry, I only sell knitting patterns at this time. You could inquire in your local knitting store if there is someone you can hire to make the project though.

I absolutely LOVE this, but I crochet and have not been able to figure out the whole knitting thing! Any chance you crochet as well, Pam? Would this be easy to convert to crochet?

I am working on getting some patterns converted to crochet. This pattern would definitely be one of them. If you subscribe to my website news feed (pampowersknits.com) I make announcements as new patterns become available.

Rossana,
There is not a video tutorial for this pattern, but I would be willing to help you understand it. I have over 55 years knitting experience and speak a fair amount of Spanish if you need a translation. Let me know. I realize you posted the request in May, but I've just seen it!

It's not difficult at all. I made one and gave it to my mom for Christmas and now I'm knitting another.
