Pattern Description:

This pattern was designed to introduce knitters to cable knitting. The pattern includes both charts and written instructions for the cables. The cable panel is knitted flat, then finished to become a bag, hat or neck warmer.

The finished size for the bag is approximately 6"H x 5.5"W and uses 50 gr (110 yards) of worsted weight yarn.

The neck warmer is approx 53"L x 5.5"W and can be knitted with one vall of worsted weight yarn.

The hat can also be knit with one ball of worsted weight yarn, and the diameter is about 23".

We knitted our Celtic Triad in "Haw".


Hat: 5 st/inch in stockinette stitch
Bag and Neck warmer: 4.5 st/in stockinette stitch


  • Yarn- 110-550 yds worsted weight yarn
  • Needles-Size 6(4 mm) 16" circular and DP for Hat
  • Needles) Size 7 (4 1/2 mm) circular or straight and DP for Bag and Neckwarmer
  • Cable needle, tapestry needle

You Will Also Need:

  • 1-11- 3/4" buttons
