My hometown and capital of Norway hosted the 2011 Nordic World Ski Championships, and my boyfriend wanted a special hat to wear while attending the big ski-jump competition. The hat itself is a very basic design and an easy knit. The colors and stripes can be changed in numerous ways. To make this a special hat, I decided on using the Norwegian flag as an inspiration. Any yarn/needle combo resulting in the appropriate gauge may be substituted. You'll need somewhat less than a 50 gram skein for the main color, it's great for using up scraps for the stripes. If you want to knit a larger rib to fold up, you'll need more of the main color.
16 stitches/10 cm, row height 8 rows/4 cm.

I cannot remember how or when I started crafting, but most likely at school back when girls were taught sewing and knitting, while the boys had woodcrafting. Nowadays, I work hard at insulating my house with yarn and make my family handmade gifts for every occasion, regretting the lack of time for knitting. But never regretting my stash buildup! A girl's gotta have choice!
