Pattern Description:
This close-fitting cap works well for both men and women. It's knit using a slip-stitch pattern and uses only one colour at a time.
Gauge:
19 sts and 26 rnds = 4" (10cm) in St st, worked in the rnd.
Sizing / Finished Measurements:
- Sizes: Small (Medium, Large)
- Circumference: 18 (20, 22)"
Materials:
- Worsted weight yarn: 65 (80, 95) yds each in two contrasting colours
- Shown in: Patons Classic Wool Merino (100% pure new wool; 100g/223 yds), 1 ball each in Indigo and Natural Mix.
- Size 7 (4.5mm) circular needle, 16" (40cm) long
- Size 7 (4.5mm) set of double-pointed needles

Great hat pattern! November 29, 2012
MumOnTheLooseI have made at least ten versions of this hat pattern. I am a self-taught knitter, and this pattern was my first attempt at knitting in the round. The instructions are very easy to follow, and although I did the "knit in stitch two rows below" wrong the first time I made it, the hat still came out looking great! Now I sometimes do that stitch correctly, sometimes, well, the other way :-) and the finished hat always comes out looking like it was much more difficult to knit than it really is!
