A unique original LavishCraft design with mirrored Aztec feel goemetric patterning and scalloped edges. Scarf or Cowl, wrap, shoulderette, over the head or twisted and tied very versatile.
The pattern is both written and charted. Easy to knit --it's just knits and purls -long tail (or other) cast on and bind off
Calienta Azteca is a very flexible design that looks good knit at many gauges, different yarn weights and types (tight or open stitches, long skinny scarf or big chunky wrap, each will give a different effect but all will look nice- have fun & play around). It also may be blocked to the pointed scallop edge shown, blocked straight, or left unblocked/'as knit' --the choice is yours. Directions and est. yardage needs are given for 2 versions: a long worsted scarf version and a chunky cowl/wrap version but either are easily modified for your chosen length, needle size, or yarn. If you modify remember yardage will vary with your choices of length and gauge.
Also given are directions for my 'anywhere' buttons that are double sided buttons that will go thru the fabric at any point, giving many more wearing options than sewn on buttons and buttonholes.
For my samples I used Cascade baby alpaca chunky in mimosa for the orange cowl/wrap/shoulderette
and Malabrigo worsted for the blue green long scarf
the worsted is 5.5 stitches per inch in ribbing on sz 8
the chunky is 4,5 stitches per inch in ribbing on size 10 needles
Gauge is not critical and these are just for yarn needle choice- measurements/gauge above are pre blocking/as knit
