Pattern Description:

The pattern is both written and charted with US and Metric equivalents.

Easy to work -- just knits and purls.

Knit and purls texture form an Aztec look design.

Block straight or to the scalloped points shown.

Two versions - chunky wrap or worsted scarf.

For my samples I used 330 yds Cascade baby alpaca chunky in mimosa for the orange cowl/wrap/shoulderette

and 440 yds Malabrigo worsted for the blue green long scarf

Also given are directions for my 'anywhere' buttons that are double sided buttons that will go thru the fabric at any point, giving many more wearing options than sewn on buttons and buttonholes.

Gauge:

the worsted is 5.5 stitches per inch (2,5 cm) in ribbing on sz 8
the chunky is 4,5 stitches per inch (2,5 cm) in ribbing on size 10 needles
Gauge is not critical and these are just for yarn needle choice- measurements/gauge above are pre blocking/as knit

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • the orange cowl/wrap/shoulderette is 11.5 by 38" and used 326 yards of chunky
  • the bluegreen scarf version is 7.5" wide by however long you like it mine was 82" and used aprox 420 yards of worsted

Materials:

  • for the orange 330 yards of bulky
  • for the bluegreen 420 - 500 yards worsted
  • size 8 needles for worsted
  • size 10 needles for bulky
  • row counter
  • markers - optional
  • rust proof T pins and blocking surface

You Will Also Need:

  • 2 sets of 4 or more buttons and elastic thread for the anywhere buttons
