Beginner
On a hill, directly above my grandparents' old
cabin, there was a little fort. Created by fallen
tree limbs and boulders, my cousins and I would
lose hours playing there.
The lace stitches in the Cala Shawl were inspired
by that old hillside fort. The lace patterns
represent a hidden trail leading into a child's
hidden, leafy playground.
23 stitches and 30 rows/4 inches in stockinette stitch before blocking
