  • basic lace knitting
  • cabling with a cable needle
  • blocking knits
  • stitches used: k, p, sl1, C4F, (sl1, k2tog, psso), ssk, yo.

Pattern Description:

The detailed cable and lace pattern makes this pretty scarf visually appealing while the soft merino wool it is knitted in makes it warm and luxurious. The pattern is easy to master and interesting to knit. It is worked flat from end to end. It requires 400 yards of a fingering weight wool. The pattern is written for Malabrigo Yarns Finito and is shown here in Aguas. The PDF pattern includes notes, a list of abbreviations, and written and charted instructions for the pattern stitch.


28 sts and 28 rows = 4" [10 cm] in Cables & Lace Pattern, after blocking.

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • Approximately 10 inches [25 cm] wide and 50 inches [127 cm] long, after blocking.


  • Malabrigo Finito (100% merino wool; 200 yd [185 m]/1.76 oz [50 g]). 2 skeins. Shown in # 855 Aguas.
  • US size 4 [3.5 mm] needles or size needed to obtain gauge.
