Basic Skills Necessary:

  • This pattern looks very intricate and difficult. I assure you that any advanced beginner knitter will be able to easily follow this pattern! You will need to know how to knit and crochet as both are used in this pattern. You can omit the crochet edge portion if you wish! The results will still be fabulous! Also, you will need to be familiar with cables.

Pattern Description:

This was inspired by the Prada Fall Fashion Show 2010. Every model was wearing one! From cream to black! The lighter the yarn, the better to see your cables!

If you have done my Classic Cabled Cowl Workshop, here on Craftsy, you are ready for this classic headband!

If you are new to cables, this is a very simple project to get started on!

Easily adjusts to fit any baby to adult! Just change the number of cables!

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • 19" around (size of average head) x 2 3/4" W


  • One skein (135 yards you will get several out of one skein) Lion Brand Yarn Jiffy bulky weight (5) yarn. Or use any bulky weight yarn.
  • One pair of US #10 (6mm) size knitting needles
  • Crochet hook US J - 10 (optional...for the edging)
  • cable needle or one size #10 or smaller double point needle
  • tapestry needle

Suggested yarn:

135 yards of Chunky weight
