  • 3 needle cast off instructions also included

Pattern Description:

Quick and easy pattern for a chunky knitted hat with a simple cable band and a big knitted flower.
Pattern in 7 sizes - to fit a newborn baby right up to adult size.
Plus patterns for 4 different flowers for decoration.

This pattern is knitted flat, sideways and joined with an easy and useful 3 needle cast off; the cable pattern is also easy and quick to learn. All instructions are given in the pattern.
Uses 12 ply yarn of your choice - between 60 and 120 metres approx, depending on the size.

These are fun to make and only take a few hours.
Flowers could be used to make brooches, bag decorations etc too.

Gauge:

13 sts, 26 rows = 4" in garter stitch on 6 mm (US 10) needles

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • Seven sizes from newborn to adult

Materials:

  • 12 ply yarn of your choice - Aran or Bulky as long as it is approx 75m/80 yds to 50 gms
  • Optional: "fancy" yarn for flower edges - eyelash, mohair, fluffy - eg Sean Sheep "Cassowary", Online "Smash"

You Will Also Need:

  • 1 pair 6 mm (US 10) needles, plus a size larger needle for casting off
  • large cable needle and a large tapestry needle
