Measurements of finished garment are approximates taken from relaxed fabric after blocking.

This pattern is suitable for fingering weight yarns with great bounce and stitch definition.

Gauge:

Gauge is measured over one repeat of blocked Cabernet Cable pattern, see picture below.
18 stitches = 2.5" / 6.5 cm and 16 rows = 2"/ 5 cm using size US 4 / 3.5 mm needles
Exact gauge is crucial for this project, as it is going to determine the finished size.
See page 3 for tips on gauge.

  • XL large adult (22-23" / 56-58.5 cm)
  • XXL extra large adult (23-24" / 58.5-61 cm)

Materials:

  • US 4/3.5 mm DPNs and 12"/ 30 cm or 16"/ 40 cm circular needle(s) or size needed to obtain gauge
  • US 2/2.75 mm DPNs, 12"/ 30 cm or 16"/ 40 cm circular needle(s) **for garter st brim**
  • US 2.5/3 mm DPNs, 12"/ 30 cm or 16"/ 40 cm circular needle(s) **for rib brim**

You Will Also Need:

  • 2 cable needles (alternatively 1 DPN and 1 locking stitch marker)
  • 1 stitch marker for BOR
  • Tapestry needle for weaving ends
