You won't need a cable needle to create the twists and turns in this hat's mock cable motif - it's all done with simple decreases and increases. The crown shaping grows naturally from the pattern below, taking the interlacing rib to its tip.

22 sts and 32 rnds = 4 in / 10cm in St st.
