Basic Skills Necessary:

  • knit, purl, increase/decrease

Pattern Description:

This soft, lightweight scarf features an energetic motif with a brisk back-and-forth movement of openwork stretching from hem to hem. Decreasing on both sides of the fabric produces crisp lines and larger eyelets, as well as pretty self-edging along hems and selvedges.

Gauge:

26 sts and 40 rows = 4 inches in stockinette stitch (unblocked; fabric will be relaxed)

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • 9.5"W x 39"L (stretched and bocked)

Materials:

  • 325 yards of any laceweight singles with approximately 400 yards per 50 grams
  • size 4US (3.5 mm) needle or size to obtain correct gauge; a needle with a slender, tapered point is highly recommended
