Blight is a top down triangle shawl that is knit in one piece. It is a perfect one-skein project for fingering weight yarn.
The lace motif is somewhat inspired by the patterns of decay in nature - that beauty can be found anywhere, and that when it feels that nothing is left - there is still some room for hope (represented by tiny flowers in the edging).
The shawl can be made bigger or smaller by knitting more or less repeats of Chart B (additional yarn will be necessary if making it larger). The size can also be changed by changing yarn/needle size, (In lace weight yarn on 5s, DK weight on 8s, etc).
This pattern is fully charted. Experience knitting from charts is necessary.
Not essential to this pattern.
The sample as written was: 1 repeat of Chart B is approximately 2.5" square, relaxed after blocking.

My name is Deborah, and I design under the name ObliviousKnits. I've been making things my whole life, mostly self-taught. I taught myself to knit about 9 years ago? I got obsessed!
I also crochet, bead, paint, draw, play with fiber and drop spindle, all while watching disgusting amounts of tv. My husband and I play guitar and write songs, but mostly I like playing with YARN.
