Our adventure in hand dyed yarn began in 2007. I just finished the seventh volume of the Harry Potter and As a real HP fan, I started looking on internet for items to the effigy of Harry Potter and I saw a picture of Gryffindor socks. I immediately wanted a pair!
My mother knitted a pair for me ! I was so proud of my beautiful red and gold socks that I wanted to knit my self a scarf with the same colors ... but I had trouble finding the right colors, more importantly in the quality of yarn that I wanted. During my research for the perfect Harry Potter yarn, I fell on a skein of hand dyed yarn... So I had this silly idea: hand dyed my own yarn ... why not!?
The magic began to act at that time ... Certainly the magic of Harry Potter but also the magic of dyeing yarn and knitting! The ideas have not stopped since that day, even during the night when my dreams are full of yarn and colors! I have showed a couple of pictures of my hand dyed yarn on my blog ... And I started getting requests!
We have customers across Canada, United States, France, Belgium, Switzerland, United Kingdom, Australia Sweden and Qatar! I am proud to be in a certain way a French ambassador of hand dyed yarn as well since this art is experiencing a great success in the Anglophone sphere but is slightly out of the way of french-speaking knitters.
Now my husband and family have joined Biscotte & Cie and we are now a great happy team! I feel very privileged to do what I do and I fervently hope that the magic never stops ...
