Has anyone actually made this pattern? I don't think it's correct. I tried it and it doesn't pattern out. Then I realized that there are no increases.. All those decreasing -k2 tog- and no increases = a pattern that doesn't make sense to me.. Help ?!

The yarn overs would be the increase stitches. I have tried it 4 times so far and it doesn't work for me??

Do a search on YouTube for "yarn forward" and you will see a few tutorials. It looks rather easy. My issue is that I think the C/O count should 56 because I'm coming up with a count of 10 stitches to the pattern x 5 (1 + 4 repeats) = 50 + the 3 on each side for border = 56. Does anyone concur?

In actuality, the yf = the yo if a K follows; if a P follows, it is a tad different. For this pattern, though, I see no reason to just do a yo.

And, once I started knitting, I see where I messed up my count. The pattern is truly 9 stitches. I counted the K2tog tbl as 3 stitches when, in fact, it is only 2. Sorry!

Has anyone tried to make this wider? I like the pattern, and would prefer a shawl. I think it's based on repeated patterns of 9 stitches, so I think increasing to CO of 60, 69, 78, 87, 96, etc could make it wider.

Can you tell me how you come up with 9 stitches in the pattern vs 10? The pattern I'm looking at says "P1, K1, K2tog, yf, K1, yf, K2tog, tbl, K1, P1...isn't this 10?

Forget my last comment! Once I started knitting, I see where I messed up my count. The pattern is truly 9 stitches. I counted the K2tog tbl as 3 stitches when, in fact, it is only 2. Sorry!

I really look forward to knitting this scarf. Thanks for the beautiful pattern Julia. I'd like to inquire about the 4 hats you also show. Does the pattern include instructions for making them with worsted as well as chunky.

The knitting pattern would be a very pretty afghan! Wondering how many stitches you would cast-on for a throw for the couch?

I think it's based on repeated patterns of 9 stitches, so I think increasing to CO by increasing by increments of 9 would make it wider. Haven't tried it yet, but I had the same idea.

Try to CO 60, and if that works, then you can just add 9 stitches until the desired width is achieved. (I say try 60 first, so that you know you have the right pattern. Casting on hundreds of sstitches, only to find out I'm wrong would not be good.)
