Pattern Description:

A pretty evening bag, with ribbon handles, just a little lace. It is quick to knit in a chunky yarn with no seaming and knit at a tight gauge so no need to line.
Just one 100g ball makes 2 small bags or one large bag.
An ideal gift for a loved one (yourself included!)


12 sts and 18 rows in stocking stitch to 10 cm/ 4" using 6mm / US size 10 needles (or size needed to achieve tension)

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • 10 (14) cm/ 2 (5 1/2)" by 20 (30) cm/ 8 (12)"


  • 6mm (US size 10) straight needles
  • 50 (100)g chunky/bulky yarn. (Sample is made in Brown Sheep, Lamb's Pride Bulky (85% wool, 15% mohair) in Aubergine (M-185))

You Will Also Need:

  • 2 (4)m/yds of 6mm/1/4" wide ribbon
  • 2 (4) buttons 2cm/3/4" in diameter (optional)

Suggested yarn:

125 yards of Bulky weight
