  • Sewing a basic running stitch and gathering up
  • Making up instructions and clear step-by-step construction diagrams are provided.

Pattern Description:

Time to cosy up with another version of my Bear Hat
This one is a slightly different fit to suit the style and a little more versatile - possibly more suitable for a boy as well as a girl, having said that, a few older girls - even women have expressed a keen interest.
It uses the same double strand of fur/eyelash and 4ply yarn as it's such an excellent combo for cold weather - not heavy, and ultra warm, with the Trapper style flap this time, to keep those little ears cosy. Well, I say little ears - it comes in sizes up to adult. Who says only the kids should get to wear the fun stuff?
It knits up on big needles in only a couple of evenings, and makes a great pressie - perfect as a Chridstmas stocking filler.
AND..... with some facepaint and a steady hand it can become a quick Haloween Werewolf or Witches Cat costume, or for any other dress-up occasion.

Approx 17 stitches -15cm
Approx 20 roes - 12cm
This is an approximate guide as this is loosely knitted and will vary slightly.

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • It comes in three sizes: small (age 2-5), medium (age 6-12) and large (age 13-adult, to approx 58cm head circumference). These sizes are approximate and the fit is stretchy.

  • Approx 60 - 70g Eyelash yarn (amount with depend on size)
  • Approx 30 - 40g 4ply wool (amounts will differ with cotton and acrylic as weight of other fibres will vary)
  • 1 pair of 8mm (US size 11) knitting needles
  • 1 pair of double ended 3mm (US size 3) knitting needles

You Will Also Need:

  • You're not going to need a lot of patience for this one, or time - it's a quickie.
