Mittens should be a staple of any knitter's collection. Everybody loves a new pair of hand knit mittens. These basic mittens are knit the tradional way-- circularly, on double-pointed needles. This is an easy pattern and a good way to learn to knit mittens.
A set of five dpns and chunky or heavy worsted weight yarn are used to make basic mittens in two sizes ('medium' for women and 'large' for men). These are great looking when made with ragg or tweed yarns. Sample pair is made with 2 balls of Patons Ecowool Chunky. (200g) Instruction is given to help you customize your mittens to your individual hand and finger length for a perfect fit.
5 stitches to the inch on size 5 needles.

I am a mostly stay-at-home wife. With our kids are grown, this time of life frees me to pursue my creativity. I teach fitness classes to senior citizens part-time and quilt, knit and crochet at home. I taught myself how to knit and crochet from magazines when I was a young teen, and haven't stopped since.
