Pattern Description:

Back Hand Hitch fingerless mitts pattern by Katya Frankel from Head to Toe: Kids' Knit Accessories.

These ribbed fingerless mitts are worked with a braided cable flowing seamlessly in and out of the knit ridges. Sized up to fit children from age 4 to 12 and are made using only one skein of Cascade 220 Sport.


24 sts and 37 rnds = 4 in / 10cm in 22 Rib pattern

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • inished hand circumference 6 (63/4, 71/4) in / 15 (17, 18.5)cm. Shown in size 63/4 in.


  • 1 skein of Cascade Yarns 220 Superwash Sport (100% superwash merino wool; 136yds/125m per 50g skein); #802 Green Apple. US4 (3.5mm) set of dpns.

You Will Also Need:

  • Stitch markers, yarn needle.

Suggested yarn:

130 yards of Sport weight
