(6) Name: 'Knitting : Azurite

Basic Skills Necessary:

  • decrease
  • twisted slip stitch pattern using charted or written instructions
  • work in the round
  • ribbing

Pattern Description:

Feather light and delicate, Azurite will make a sweet addition to your wardrobeor your jewelry box. The gossamer lines of the stitch pattern form a chain of jewels around the crown, creating a semi-precious style that can be worn with the ribbed hem folded up like a beanie, or left long and slouchy. The lovely lightweight fabric keeps you warm without bulk, and the charted and written instructions are delightfully easy to follow.


Gauge measurement should be taken after blocking.
34 sts/50 rows = 4 in/10 cm in Mirror Cable stitch pattern
34 sts/48 rows = 4 in/10 cm in 2x2 Rib pattern

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • Brim Circumference: 18 (19, 20, 21) in/45.5 (48, 51, 53.5) cm


  • 250 (275, 300, 320) yd/230 (250, 275, 295) m light fingering weight yarn
  • US #2/2.75 mm 16 in/40 cm needle
  • US #2/2.75 mm needles for small-circumference knitting; use preferred method
  • Shown in Swans Island Natural Colors Merino Fingering (100% Organic Merino Wool; 525 yd/480 m per 100g skein) Color: Garnet; 1 skein
