Basic Skills Necessary:

  • working in the round
  • ability to read a chart
  • basic knowledge of cables
  • pfb (purl into the front and back of a stitch)
  • p2tog
  • ssp

Pattern Description:

A slouchy beret worked in a cabled argyle pattern on a background of reverse stockinette stitch. Worked in a worsted-weight heathered yarn, this hat will be a classic staple in your winter wardrobe.

Gauge:

16 sts and 24 rows over 4" in Stockinette Stitch

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • 20" and 24" brim circumference 8" length

Materials:

  • 150-200 yards worsted weight yarn
  • US #7/ 4.5mm dpn and 16" circular needle

You Will Also Need:

  • stitch markers
  • cable needle or extra dpn
  • tapestry needle to weave in ends
  • 9" dinner plate for blocking
