  • You will need to know how to cable and do basic rib techniques.

Pattern Description:

Extra long ribbed scarf with decorative smocked edges.

Yarn shade in photos: Natural undyed.

We recommend using the Rowan yarn indicated above. However you could use any chunky weight yarn, but please knit a tension square first.


20 stitches and 11 rows = 4 x 4 inches (10 x 10cm) in Rib pattern

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • One size (knitted measurements approx): Width - 20cm (8in) and length 220cm (86in).


  • Approx 480 yards (439 m) of any chunk/bulky weight yarn. We used Rowan 'Purelife' 100% wool but you could use a similar yarn, but please knit a tension square before you start.

You Will Also Need:

  • one pair of 7mm (US 10.5) straight needles
  • a cable needle
  • a stitch holder.
