Pattern Description:

Charted pattern.

US and Metric conversions

Intermediate skill level: Charted pattern with 'no stitch' spaces, and shifting repeat borders that extend beyond end of round.
Detailed instructions on the round shifts (marker movements) and wrapping technique provided.

Worked in the round.
Easily adjustable for length.
Blocking necessary.

Thoroughly tested and edited.

Long worsted cowl. Japanese wrapped stitching creates a lovely lattice effect. With simple lace points at the lower edge.


Gauge not critical
as knit/unblocked - in *ktbl, p2 ribbing was
29 sts = 4" (10 cm) 7.25 sts per inch (2.5 cm)

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • one size adult - easily adjustable for length
  • 40.5" (103 cm) full circumference - after blocking
  • 6" (15.5 cm) main width - 6.75" (17 cm) to point tips


  • 200 - 220 yards (183 -202 m) of worsted weight yarn
  • US 7 (4.5 mm) circular needles 28" (70 cm) long
  • Row Counter
  • One Stitch Marker
  • Tapestry Needle - to sew in tails
  • Cable Needle (optional -for alt. wrapping method
