Pattern Description:

Cowls are all the rage since they're so much easier to wear than a scarf. For a bit of warmth ... a bit of class ... a bit of sophistication make this lovely lace cowl in the round for faster knitting.

The lace pattern is easy to learn (both charted and written directions) and since you're knitting in the round, you always have it facing out.

The sample is made in a Cashmere/Silk/Merino blend from Spring Gate Farms in Barboursville, VA, but any fingering weight will work for this cowl. A tonal from Hazel Knits would be glorious!

Gauge:

4sts x 6rnds = 1" stockinette (unblocked)

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • 26" circumference x 8" tall

Materials:

  • approx. 150 yards of fingering weight -- sample used a cashmere (50%), silk (25%), merino (25%) blend
  • US#10 circs (16")
  • stitch markers to separate pattern repeats
