(6) Name: 'Knitting : Amina

Basic Skills Necessary:

  • Basic stitches (knit, purl)
  • Long-tail or similar cast-on
  • Twisted stitches (ktbl)
  • Decreasing (k2tog)
  • Stranded colourwork (mostly two colours, although two rounds require 3 colours to be worked - it's easier than you'd think!)

Pattern Description:

Amina is an enticing colourwork hat, with "just enough" slouch to look good on a wide range of heads.

Inspired by geometric patterns on the tiles of Turkish palaces, the simple colourwork motif is accentuated by a contrasting raw edge, and gathered crown, making this hat both quick to knit and exciting to wear.

Choose coordinating or contrasting colours for completely different effects.
