Basic Skills Necessary:

  • stranded knitting (Fair Isle)


36 sts x 36 rows = 4" / 10cm in stranded colorwork stockinette stitch.

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • Sized to fit average adult female head. Brim circumference: 18 1/2", unstretched; widest circumference when blocked as shown: 24 3/4"


  • Suggested yarn: 4 x 50-g balls of Dale of Norway Baby Ull, each in a different color: A, B, C & D; or, 5 x 25-g balls of Jamieson's Shetland Spindrift, 2 in A, 1 in each of the other colors.
  • Suggested needles: One set of 5 double pointed needles in US size 0 (2.0mm) for the brim lining AND One set of 5 double pointed needles in US size 1 (2.25mm to 2.50) for the body of the hat

You Will Also Need:

  • Notions: stitch marker, tapestry needle.
