Basic Skills Necessary:

  • knit
  • purl
  • k2tog= knit two stitches together
  • yo= yarn over

Pattern Description:

This shawl is knit from the top down in mostly Garter stitch. It also features rows of eyelets and stripes which help to give the shawl a curved shape.

The shawl can also be worn as a scarf and will drape your neck and shoulders beautifully.

Gauge:

28 stitches and 32 rows = 4 inches in Stockinette stitch;
28 stitches and 28 ridges= 4 inches in Garter stitch

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • The finished shawl measures approximately 61" across the top ribbed edge and flares to 70" at it's bottom eyelet edge. It is about 6" in height.

Materials:

  • About 440 yards of Light Fingering or Fingering weight yarn
  • Size 4, 29 or 36 inch circular needles
