Pattern Description:

Years ago, I took time off of college and went home. I kept my horse at a barn in the mountains and it was there that we discovered trail riding. We would go, almost every day, for a run through the canyon. Up and down hills, through water, around trees, it was fantastic. When I dyed this yarn, I immediately thought of mountains and rivers, and I thought of those trails. It turns out that the name of the creek that ran through "our" canyon is called Aliso Creek, hence the name.

These socks are knit top-down in cable pattern reminiscent of flowing water, with some subtle gusset details. It took many tries and a lot of work to get this pattern to look the way I envisioned. I think it turned out nicely in the end, though, and I hope you enjoy it too.

Also, keep in mind that cables don't produce a stretchy fabric so you may want to add some ribbing to the side or use a thicker yarn if you're worried they are too tight.
