Basic Skills Necessary:

  • knit, purl, increase/decrease

Pattern Description:

A shimmering triangle shawl in three sizes mini(petite, tall) to accent any outfit with silky luxury. Body is knit in a repeating geometric motif of simple lace stitches and ends at the hem in a knit-on edge. With wrong-side rows all in purl, this piece works up quickly and travels well. Can be resized by adding/subtracting repeats or worked in a different gauge by changing yarn and needles. Recommended for nearly-solid or tonal variegated yarns.

Gauge:

24 sts and 34 rows = 4 inches in stockinette (unstretched, unblocked)

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • 45(72, 80) inches across top edge and 21(32, 36) inches long at center back (blocked)

Materials:

  • 400(600, 800) yards of any soft fingering yarn with approximately 400-450 yards per 100 grams
  • Needles: size 4 US (3.5 mm) circular needle for body (or size to obtain correct gauge) size 3 US (3.25 mm) circular needle for edging; DPN in same size (optional)
