Basic Skills Necessary:

  • knit, purl, increase/decrease

Pattern Description:

A faroese shawl in two sizes petite(tall) worked from hem to neck with deeply-curving leaf motifs and dainty, undulating vertical panels. Incorporated leaf edgings along the front and neck edges complete the composition. Recommended for handpainted variegated yarns with subtle, tonal color changes. Substituting yarn and/or needles may result in a variation in size.

Gauge:

24 sts and 36 rows = 4" in stockinette stitch (unblocked)

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • Length at center back (blocked) = 28(32) inches Width across top edge (blocked) = 72(84) inches Total circumference at hem (blocked) = 100(120) inches

Materials:

  • 1100(1500) yards of any laceweight yarn which has 210-230 yards per ounce
  • Needles: size 5US (3.75 mm) or size to obtain correct gauge DPN same size as body needle to work neck edging (optional)

1500 yards of Lace weight
