Basic Skills Necessary:

  • This tutorial is rated beginner/easy. It is helpful if you have practiced making eye loops and spirals, but making a spiral is clearly photographed and explained.

Pattern Description:

This tutorial will teach you how to make a Triple Spiral Bail for a front drilled pendant, with 10 inches of wire and in 10 minutes time. This bail is particularly suitable for use with cords or gemstone strands.

As a beginner, you will find that learning to make a spiral will have many other applications in jewelry making.

The tutorial demonstrates how to make the basic triple spiral bail in the first photo only. The additional photos show you how you can change the look of your bail by varying the size and orientation/direction of your spirals.

This tutorial does not teach you to coil around the upper bail wire as pictured in the second photo. This simply shows you one option you have once you have made the basic bail.
