Pattern Description:
Make a bouquet of these adorable calla lily-like components. You need to be comfortable with peyote stitch, and should be able to work with tight tension, which is required to prevent droop!
I like using a metallic colour for the accent (around the open edges), and something sweet for the main colour. I enjoy the way gilt-lined beads contrast with metallics, but there's no right or wrong here.
Start by making the bail/loop, change colour to continue making the bloom, add stamens if desired, and add a contrasting plain or zig-zag edging.
Sizing / Finished Measurements:
- Each calla is less than an inch without the bail loop
Materials:
- Japanese size 11 seed beads in 3 colours, 2 for flower, 1 for stem
- accent beads for stamens (optional)
- beading needle
- beading thread

- scissors
- beading surface
- thread conditioner (optional)
- good lighting
- magnifiers!
