Skill Level:

little skill level requirement Novice

Basic Skills Necessary:

  • Knowledge of the proper technique for opening and closing jump rings without distortion

Pattern Description:

This tutorial will teach you to construct the Box chainmaille weave also known as Queen's Link. This is a weave suitable for even beginners to chainmaille and is so versatile! Just look at the other pics to the right to see some of the jewelry that I have created with this beautiful chain.

This weave is particularly striking in mixed metals! The bracelet in the main picture was done with sterling silver, copper and 14kt gold filled rings.

Materials:

  • 2 pairs of smooth jawed pliers (I use one flat nose and one chain nose)
  • precut rings in the recommended sizes
  • pick or small knitting needle (optional, but helpful until you get the hang of the weave)

You Will Also Need:

  • beads and/or clasps for finishing the chain
