This tutorial shows you how to twist wire around some oval shaped stones to turn them into a pair of earrings. It is easy to follow and 36 clear pictures will show you step by step (21 main steps spread along 12 pages) how and when to mold the wire leading you to the final design. It is a one piece earring; the ear wire is made of the same wire used for the stone setting. My suggestion is to use the whole spool of wire while working, especially if you don't have the same sizes listed above for the oval stones. You need to be familiar with wire and able to mold it with your fingers. All these being said, get some wire and two oval stones at your choice and let's start! For those of you who find metrical system difficult to work with, the last step in this tutorial is with conversion factors, cm to inch and mm to gauge.
60 cm of 1.00 mm hard silver plated wire
2 oval malachite stones (24mm/18mm)
round nose pliers
flat nose pliers
a pen/thin mandrel for ear wires
you can use any oval shaped stone you want.
wire can be replaced with copper wire, sterling silver wire, as well.
