Basic Skills Necessary:

  • tat rings and chains
  • make a join in tatting
  • make a lock join in tatting
  • bead picots
  • using 2 shuttles
  • floating rings (rings thrown off chains)

Pattern Description:

A fun and quick pattern to to tat, with lots of possibility for playing with different colors of beads and thread. It could also be made as a pendant.

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • Approximately 1 and 1/2 inches long, depending on size of teardrop bead used


  • A few yards of size 20 crochet thread (Lizbeth brand or other 6 cord cotton)
  • 2 tatting shuttles
  • Small steel crochet hook about a size 14/.6mm (to help with joins)
  • 20 size 11/0 seed beads
  • 2 top drilled teardrop beads
  • Earring findings
  • 1 split ring finding 4mm to 5mm
  • 1 jump ring 4mm
