When I learned this stitch, I learned working it the way the I had the graphics originally (working down). After working so much with this stitch, I have found that working it upwards was much easier. So you will find that all the graphics now reflect this. I am right-handed therefore so is the pattern. If you are left-handed, working upwards is still easier, but working each fan left to right would be best for you. I use this stitch and variations of it in the majority of my designs so I want to be consistent. There were also a few minor adjustments to the text descriptions that I thought might make it clearer to understand, especially for more novice beaders. So, there was nothing wrong with the original pattern and if you learned it that way and are comfortable with it that's great... but you might want to try it this way once and see if it is any improvement. Happy beading! ~Stacey G

I have noticed this pattern doesn't tell you what size of beads have been used in the example, does anyone know please?

I don't know why you are having difficulties downloading this pattern so I don't know how to advise you to 'fix' it. Over 100 people have already downloaded this pattern so I don't think the problem lies with the Craftsy site, but maybe it had a glitch or something. I will look into it. Thanks, Stacey G
