To help you bead pieces where the colors do not fade or rub off, I offer 4 different free "Safe Bead Lists":
Delica 11 Safe Bead List Sorted By Color
Delica 11 Safe Bead List Sorted By Mfg#
Delica 15 Safe Bead List Sorted By Color
Delica 15 Safe Bead List Sorted By Mfg#
Lots of my customers download these lists to their phones to help them when shopping for their beads. Please see my explanation of these lists below to help you understand how they can help you choose colors &/or finishes.
These 4 Free Delica Safe Bead Lists, that I have compiled for Delicas 11/0 and 15/0, are based on the "Durability Chart" at the Miyuki site. All these beads are durable. They will not fade, rub off, cut the thread or break easily. The lists exclude dyed or galvanized beads because they fade &/or the color rubs off with time. Based on my personal experience Satin/Silk beads are also excluded because they are thinner than other Delica beads and break very easily. Satin/Silk beads also have very sharp edges and have often cut the Fireline that I used.
All my pattern's palettes suggest only the Delica Safe Beads from these lists. If you stick with these "safe beads" you will never again have to spray with Krylon to prevent rub off &/or fading. My patterns palette colors are only suggestions, but if you do change up the suggested colors, please refer to the 4 Delica Safe Bead Lists which I have compiled for size 11 and 15 Delicas to help you in the selection of bead colors and finishes. Please remember to avoid dyed or galvanized and satin/silk beads, so you won't be disappointed later. It would be a shame to put money, time and effort into your piece only to have the color change, the thread cut or have the beads break. I want your beadwork to last forever.
The lists also indicate the finish of each bead and whether it Pops or Recedes in designs. You will notice a P, PR, RP or R after the Delica's Mfg#. I try to mix the finishes in my patterns so it is not all shiny or all matte. I use P (Popping colors/finishes), R (Receding colors/finishes) or PR/RP (those that can Pop or Recede) together if possible so the design, using contrasting effects is very distinct and stands out, which makes a more interesting, artistic beaded piece.
P - stands for Popping finish, it stands out (it is the shiniest);
PR - stands for Popping or Receding finish, it can stand out or recede depending on what it is placed next to (not as shiny as P);
RP - stands for Receding or Popping finish, it can recede or stand out depending on what it is placed next to (less shiny and more flat than PR); and
R - stands for Receding finish - it will recede or fade into the background of your piece (matte finish with no shine).
If you change my suggested colors, use my Delica Safe Bead Lists when shopping for beads and mix the P, PR, RP and R if possible, so you don't get either a too flat or overpowering popping effect in your beaded piece.

I was a teacher in the 70's & 80's, a legal assistant in the 90's & a professional driver in the 2000's. I have been happily married for 25+ years. My wonderful husband puts up with all the mess involved with beading and designing in my studio...which is the whole house. I started designing my own patterns because I got tired of redesigning 6-7 inch bracelets.
I hope you find my designs interesting and stimulating, as I love to dabble in geometric, abstract, tessellations and repeat patterns. You will have conversational pieces of art when you wear my designs. I don't use any dyed or galvanized beads in the designs because they fade and the color rubs off with time. I also don't use satin beads because they break easily as they are thinner than other delicas and they also tend to cut thread. I want your beaded art to last forever.
My patterns can be used to make: cuff bracelets, ear rings, pendants, sun catchers, panels, hatbands, headbands, bookmarks, chokers, credit card holders, business card cases, checkbook covers, lighter case holders, tea candle covers, amulets, beaded bags, cosmetic bags, wall hangings, appliqués, belts, guitar straps, beaded straps, eyeglass cases, pouches, coasters, place mats, change purses, key chains, fan pulls, bell pulls, napkin rings, dog collars, horse gear, doll house rugs, etc.
