Basic Skills Necessary:

  • This is an intermediate project. You should be comfortable with basic tools; have good basic wire handling skills, and be able to complete wrapped loops and coil wire. Resources for wire coiling are included in the tutorial.

Pattern Description:

Classic Soutache braid is a favorite among seamstresses for adding a touch of elegance to accessories. Now, we can easily adapt this beautiful weave into wire jewelry! You'll actually create your own basic, surprisingly simple tool to make this weave , well, SURPRISINGLY easy to make - no more jigs for us! PLUS a special BONUS section on how to add wire virtually invisibly!!!

For those of you who own my Celtic Braid and Cretan Braid tutorials - this weave is the same - but this is a MUCH easier, versatile, and inexpensive way to accomplish it!

Whether you are a visual learner or read all the text, this tutorial is for you! Presented in an easy to understand, step-by-step comprehensive format, with over 50 clear and close photos. Numerous tips and troubleshooting make this project easy to finish and help you create your own personal variations.
