Basic Skills Necessary:

  • To complete this project you will need basic sewing machine skills. You will also need to know how to embroider a backstitch--instructions are included in the pattern

Pattern Description:

"Queen of Awesome" is dedicated to the awesome in all of us. Pattern includes a full-size template


  • 13 x 13" square white tone on tone cotton fabric for redwork center block
  • 13 x 13" square of white muslin backing for redwork center block (optional)
  • Two 4 3/4 x 9 1/2", and two 4 3/4 x 16 1/2" strips of red fabric for pillow front border
  • 16 1/2 x 16 1/2" square of contrast fabric for pillow back
  • 1 2/3 yards washable metallic-look 7/8" ribbon

You Will Also Need:

  • Metallic sewing machine thread (optional) or other matching thread
  • 3/4" decorative button
  • #321 DMC size 8 Perle cotton or two skeins of regular floss.
  • 7" or 9" embroidery hoop
  • 16" pillow form
