I love cross stitching but have been really frustrated with the lack of designs that are modern and relevant. I want to stitch projects that are fun and colorful and relate to my interests in fine art and pop culture and have a sense of humor whenever possible.
"Petaldance" has been adapted from an original abstract oil painting of mine when I was in a mood to paint something green. The finished product is perfect for framing (just remember to leave at least 2 inches on every side). Also folded in half I makes a great mini evening bag - just add a green lining and a decorative zipper pull.
Working with City Stitcher Charts
How to read charts: The design is presented in chart form. Each colored square on the chart represents on cross stitch.
Color/Symbol Key: The color/symbol key indicates the colors of floss to use for each stitch on the chart. All floss numbers listed by their color/symbol key corresponds to the DMC floss chart.
Working with the threads: DMC floss comes in a 6-strand thread. All stitches in this pattern use 2-strand threads. Please separate the thread into 2-strands for cross stitching this pattern

Hi, I have been hooked on needle and thread crafts since my grandmother taught me to sew at age 7. Now I am a professional artist and graphic designer but I still love to sew, embroider, knit, and crochet. I love using traditional crafts to make modern designs. I am now creating cross stitch and crochet patterns based my favorite artists, fashion icons and pop culture references.
