Pattern Description:

Early, early in the morning ... We're walking through a blue-gray meadow covered with a thick white veil of mist. The morning dew cools your bare feet (we are carrying our shoes to keep them not wet) on the path to the deep part of the birch forest. We are gripped with the sweet, thrilling sense of anticipation adventure which managed to get us up from our beds before dawn for our long walk...
That means - the time of 'quiet hunting' has come in Belarus. It's the time when all the residents of the country become 'mushroom hunters', lose their rest and travel from all over to pick delectable mushrooms.

Picking mushrooms in Belarus is a passion and taught since early childhood. In autumn, people go in a frenzy about mushrooms; the traffic is increased by bus loads of mushroom pickers; the mouth-watering scent of forest mushrooms cooking drifts from kitchen windows; and amazing 'mushroom stories' are exchanged, many of which are... 'urban myths'... or should I say 'forest myths'?

Belarus has an abundance of forests, and they are home to a huge variety of wild edible mushrooms, and there's plenty for everyone.
Belarusan hospitality is impossible without mushrooms on the table, and the 'comforts of home' is defined by the quantity of preserved mushrooms.

Mushroom Adventure was a thrill to design and convert into a cross stitch pattern.
It's an image that strongly evokes my childhood and youth memories.
