C10 Temari Tutorial - Little Red Flower

from Unicorn Studios
(10) Name: 'Embroidery : C10 Temari Tutorial - Little Red Flower
C10 Temari Tutorial - Little Red Flower

Basic Skills Necessary:

  • prepare a basic C10 division Temari ball

Pattern Description:

This traditional Japanese design has some very typical features - the pattern 'appears' as if by magic as you stitch the shapes round by round - one round on all of one shape first, then one round on all of the other shape. Also, the thread is used double, which can be tricky unless you know the right technique to use. This is described in detail in the Flowery Wheels pattern.

This interpretation shows off the little red flowers between the pinstriped spoked wheels, but try working the solid colour on the first shape and the darker colour on the second and see what you get!

This is an easy design to stitch and would be good as a second or third C10 ball.

  • C10 division ball, plain sewing thread (any colour), embroidery threads of your choice, pins, long needle.
