Basic Skills Necessary:

  • You will need to know how to cross stitch, back stitch & make lazy daisy stitches to complete this design. You can find a beginner's tutorial here:

Pattern Description:

Who says you're too old to play Dress Up? Stitch an Alice gown.

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • This design is 75 x 103 stitches. If you stitch on 14 count fabric over 1 thread or 28 count fabric over 2 threads the finished dimensions will be approximately 5.75" x 7.25".


  • You will need 1 skein of each color listed of DMC floss; 1 spool of each color listed for Kreinik #8 Fine Braids, (DMC floss equivalents are also given for Kreinik colors but are not a perfect match.); 1 spool of each color DMC Memory Threads; 1 pkg. of each color Mill Hill size 11 seed beads & evenweave fabric of your choice. Suggested fabrics are 28 count Lambs Wool linen by Permin or 28 count Natural Linen (Stitched over 2 threads). Suggested fabric color is a darker than white color of choice.

You Will Also Need:

  • You will also need an embroidery hoop, #24 or #26 tapestry needle, sharp embroidery scissors and materials for finishing your stitched piece. (ie: a frame, fabric to make a pillow, etc...)
