Basic Skills Necessary:

  • Crocheting in spiral.

Pattern Description:

Includes one PDF file on 9 pages with all the instructions needed to make your own long-legged toy bunny.

Pattern is written in English, using US crochet terminology. I included detailed instructions, many step-by-step photos and useful tips and tricks.

In this tutorial I will explain starting a piece with an adjustable loop (magic ring), finishing a piece, joining pieces, knotting and hiding yarn tails. Pattern includes unlimited support from me via email.

For a little preview, take a look at the first three pages - http://engsidrun.spire.ee/blogs/media/blogs/a/patterns/EN-014.04_preview.pdf

Gauge:

You can use the same pattern to make smaller or larger toys by using finer or bulkier yarns. Make sure to pick a crochet hook at least a size smaller than suggested on the yarn label and crochet tightly enough to achieve a tight gauge that will not allow the stuffing to show through the fabric.

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • 29 cm (11 1/2"), with worsted weight cotton blend and a 2,50 mm crochet hook.

Materials:

  • Yarn. I used worsted weight cotton and acrylic blend 144 m = 50 g (158 yd = 50 g) / 10 ply / 9 wpi. You will need about 85 g or 245 m (270 yd) of yarn.
  • 2,25 - 3,25mm crochet hook (US size 1/B - 3/D) or according to the yarn.
  • Polyester fiberfill, wool, wadding etc. for stuffing.
  • 9 mm (1/3") safety eyes or buttons, beads, felt etc.
  • Embroidery floss.
  • Yarn needle, scissors, stitch marker.
  • Fabric, thread and sewing needle.

Suggested yarn:

270 yards of DK weight

Preferred Brand/Yarn:

Novita
