Basic Skills Necessary:

  • read a crochet pattern
  • chain
  • slip stitch
  • single crochet
  • single crochet decrease or invisible decrease
  • half-double crochet
  • double crochet

Pattern Description:

It's the famous vampire/human teen couple, Edward and Bella, in tiny yarn form! Fans will recognize their outfit colors, skin tones, and apple from the first "Twilight" movie. You can make them with or without jacket collars (see photos), and pattern includes instructions for making the apple accessory.

Pattern includes:
-- definitions of stitch abbreviations
-- materials list, including recommended yarn brands and colors and where to find mat'ls
-- row-by-row written instructions with lots of instructive color photos
-- links to helpful online crochet tutorials

Materials you will need:
-- 100% acrylic "soft"-type worsted-weight (4 ply) yarn in chocolate, peach, off-white, dark blue, light blue, gray, and black
-- Brown "Fun Fur" bulky eyelash yarn
-- Brown and black six-strand embroidery floss
-- About 5 or 6 handfuls of polyester fiberfill
-- (4) 9mm or 10mm black eye posts with safety backs
-- About (12) 1/2-inch steel hex-nuts or glass vase gems for bottom weight
-- For apple (optional), bake-hard polymer clay such as Fimo or Sculpey in red, or any color clay painted with red acrylic paint after baking
-- Thin elastic cord to attach apple to hand

Tools you will need:
--D/3.25mm hook, E/3.5mm hook, and H/5mm hook
-- Yarn needle, large-head pins, and scissors for finishing

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • Finished dolls are about 5.5 inches (14 cm) tall, 2.5 inches (7 cm) wide at base, and stand on their own.
